The acoustic guitar is one of my key interests to which this website is dedicated. I have been involved with listening to, playing, and building guitars for a good part of my life. I have been fortunate to meet, play with, learn from, and simply appreciate many gifted artists - too numerous to mention here. Check out out the 'Friends" page for links to some of them.

Currently I enjoy teaching a small group of select students. I love to pass on the joy of making music and inspiring motivated players. When playing, it's usually around the house for my dogs, a willing family member, or composing and recording in my small home studio. When I get "out and about" I play with some fellow musicians for our local home church group, an occasional gig at "The Dryden Cafe", or at one of the local area nursing homes. It is a real privilege to play music for anyone willing to listen ... to share the creativity so freely given to us and perhaps bring a little enjoyment into someone's life.

Apparently I started playing at an early age ... looks like this was my first guitar … a little short on tone, but I don’t ever remember having to change strings :-)

One of my current guitars, an Anthony Karol Traditional Jumbo that has tons of tone ... but now I have to change strings ... at least once a year  :-(

I have also been building guitars, which started with a "total immersion" training class at the Vermont Instruments School of Lutherie by George Morris in 2001. Playing an instrument that you've built from scratch is an indescribably wonderful experience. Building that first guitar totally got me hooked, and I have been "chipping and carving" away ever since on my take of the ultimate OM style steel string. You can read more over on the "Guitar Building" pages.
